Lunch and Learn success powered by Prosperity 24.7

Prosperity 24.7 has a proud history of supporting both local and national community endeavours, this year we were overjoyed to be a pioneer by hosting a series of Lunch and Learn sessions in conjunction with “Learning at Work Week”- a Campaign For Learning initiative to champion continued personal and professional development across a range of Industry needs. It proved an opportunity to demonstrate to the local business community just some of the specialist subjects where Prosperity 24.7 excel and deliver innovation to Industry.

The week was initiated by Senior Training Consultant Rose Gray who delivered an abbreviated version of our ‘hints and tips on Presentation Skillscourse, giving the attendees some priceless guidance on techniques to design the presentation concept; improve slide construction and how to effectively communicate with their audience. As one of the delighted attendees quoted afterwards, “this was a really informative and enjoyable session”.

Julian Slater (Head of Analytics and Reporting) and Paulina Hruszowiec (Data Analytics Consultant) then spoke passionately on Data Analytics – highlighting the growth in operational opportunities, the importance of data-led decision making and providing some stunning examples of visual displays to translate complex information into something meaningful to aid business decisions and risk mitigation. The session was finished off with a live demo of the latest Excel add-ins which significantly increases the user’s ability to easily perform in-depth analytics.

The mid-week session was a thoroughly engaging view on Real World Project Management and Avoiding Project Pain, with PM guru Paul Marshall and BA expert Rob Quinlan taking their audience on a memorable examination of some notable project disasters, gaining an understanding of the simple but essential techniques on how to avoid the pain – repeatable frameworks; lean processes and of course, people management.

After a day off for good behaviour on Thursday (actually this session has been moved back a couple of weeks whilst we delivered lunch and learn sessions for a client), Chief Technology Officer Jake Foster and Lee Pirouet (Head of Professional Services) completed the week with a thoroughly absorbing view on the latest developments in Data Storage and Security. Focussing on corporate-level storage, performance and access requirements, Jake and Lee examined hybrid storage configurations and how it can guarantee performance for your most critical applications.  They also demonstrated how DUO Security can enable you to cost effectively protect all users with dual-factor authentication without the need for outdated and expensive physical tokens.

CEO Chris Clark enthused “it was great to see the team enjoying the experience as much as the clients. Having seen the feedback comments we will definitely be running these sessions again!”

The session that should have taken place on Thursday has been moved back to Thursday 12th June to accommodate the availability of one of the speakers and to source a larger location. This final session will see Chief Learning Officer Geraldine Evans team up with Technical Director Simon Jackson to talk through Extending Excel – a fascinating look at how the latest Excel product can be utilised to really beef up your self-serve analytics capability across the Organisation. Please contact Geraldine Evans to enquire about space availability as numbers are strictly limited and have already outgrown our previous capped headcount of 20 per day!
