Prosperity Day exceeds £50,000 in three years

Prosperity Day, the fun yet competitive charity cycling event created by Prosperity 24.7, has raised in excess of £50,000 for local charities in just three years. This year Prosperity 24.7 raised £18,742 which has been shared equally between the Teenage Cancer Trust Jersey Appeal and Jersey Zoo.

Chris Clark, CEO of Prosperity 24.7 commented “when we set out on this journey three years ago, we hoped that Prosperity Day could become an event where our corporate community could have fun by going head to head with their professional adversaries whilst raising funds for a variety of charities. The appetite to compete and exceed our expectations has been, quite simply, phenomenal!

Each year we set an aspirational target of £24,700, which we are yet to achieve, but over the course of just three years, we have managed to distribute £50,699 to a range of incredibly worthy causes whilst having a bloomin’ great laugh and a heap of fun watching colleagues, clients and our community pull together to make a difference.

You could not ask for a more successful outcome and it is with pleasure that I can announce that next year we are hoping to make Prosperity Day, bigger, better, louder and even more fun, all for two phenomenal charities – The British Heart Foundation (Jersey) and Jersey Cheshire Home – two incredibly relevant and prominent charities which save lives or help our elderly every day of the week. We are working with the British Heart Foundation to bring a novel idea to St. Helier so watch this space!

The last thing we have to say is a massive “THANK YOU” to every helper, participant, fund raiser and to every single person who donated something, large or small over the last three years to this excellent event.”

To see the impact that Prosperity Day has had in 2017, we produced an infographic which we share with every competitor to let them know that they have had a directly positive effect on Islander’s lives:
