A varied and valuable work placement

Over the past couple of weeks, Year 10 student, Seren Augustine, has been spending time with us for her Trident work experience placement. Trident is a structured programme designed to give young people the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience in a real working environment. The aim is to help participants develop essential workplace skills, gain insight into different career paths, and build confidence as they prepare for their future employment.

Seren shared her thoughts on her placement at Prosperity, her career aspirations and the skills she’s gained.

“During my time here I’ve learned so much. One thing that I enjoyed learning about is cybersecurity – it’s such an interesting field of work! I’d be interested in following a career in cybersecurity or law.  Both go together well!”

“Prosperity offers such a wide range of career options to choose from. I’ve really enjoyed learning about the variety of everything from project management to new technology. I had the opportunity to have a taster of all parts of the business, where I learned loads and realised there’s always so much to get involved in.”

“All of the teams I’ve worked with have been super helpful, and they explain stuff in a very easy to understand way, which has helped me to learn so much. It’s one of the greatest opportunities I’ve had. I’m endlessly grateful.”

“My main takeaway from these two weeks is IT is so much more than just the technology itself- it inspires collaboration and communication in a whole new way.”
