Jersey’s business community came together for an evening of friendly competition, connection and plenty of fun at Prosperity 24/7’s second annual padel tournament.
Prosperity 24/7 may be well known for its annual charity cycling event, Prosperity Day, but a new sporting fixture is quickly earning its place in the calendar. Returning for a second year, the Prosperity Padel Tournament brought colleagues, clients and community together at Island Padel in St Clement for an evening that combined friendly rivalry with relaxed networking.
This year’s tournament was oversubscribed, with teams from 17 companies joining the Prosperity team across two divisions. The line-up included Alex Picot Trust, Altair, Altum Group, Aztec, The Channel Islands Co-operative Society, Collas Crill, Fairway Group, HSBC, JTC Group, Langham Hall, Lloyds Bank, Mourant, Oak Group, Opera Group, Rathbones International, Standard Bank and Walkers Global.
With the courts full and such a broad mix of organisations represented, the evening highlighted just how much the event has grown since its first year.
One of the sport’s strengths is its accessibility. Experienced players could enjoy the competitive side of the tournament while those picking up a racket for the first time were able to get involved straight away after a brief training session.
While sport created a natural setting for networking and socialising, off court, drinks and a barbecue kept the conversation flowing and gave everyone time to catch up after the matches. A huge thank you goes to the team at Island Padel, whose welcoming and accommodating approach helped make the event another success.
Congratulations to Division 1 winners Rathbones International and Division 2 winners Altum Group. Thank you to every team that joined us and brought such energy to the courts.
Watch the video to relive the highlights from the evening. We look forward to seeing everyone back on court next year.
