Within the Business Solutions team, Senior Consultant, Matt Crick has been promoted to Team Manager.   Matt joined Prosperity 24/7 in 2022 and has leveraged his skills in web development and Microsoft Power Platform to develop applications, create automations and integrate Power Pages websites opening up processes and data to business clients and employees. He is also knowledgeable in Microsoft Copilot and Copilot Studio embedding and creating AI solutions through the use of Azure AI Services.

Dylan Oswald joined Prosperity in 2023 as a Trainee in Business Solutions, developing in his role to now become a Consultant.  He has demonstrated a strong commitment to learning and development throughout, continuing to expand his technical capabilities. Dylan’s role focuses on designing and developing solutions using Microsoft PowerApps, helping clients improve their processes through intuitive, low-code applications. With a growing skill set in Power Platform and software development, he’s quickly building a reputation for delivering clean, effective solutions that meet real business needs.

Dillon Walker, who joined Prosperity 24/7 in 2022 as a Network Consultant has been promoted to Senior Consultant within the Technical Solutions team.  He designs and delivers bespoke network solutions that are secure, scalable, and aligned with each client’s business goals. From initial design through to implementation and optimisation, he ensures networks perform reliably and efficiently, while proactively identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. Dillon’s expertise spans network design, monitoring, troubleshooting and reporting, with a strong focus on performance and security. He also provides executive-level insights through detailed network health reports, helping clients stay ahead of vulnerabilities and inefficiencies.

Finally, Fiona Tregoning also joined Prosperity 24/7 in 2022 and has been promoted to Senior Consultant within the People Team. Fiona plays a key role in supporting the delivery of Prosperity 24/7’s HR objectives, helping to keep the organisation running efficiently and compliantly. Fiona brings a wealth of practical experience and a calm, solutions-focused approach. She is a trusted point of contact for all colleagues across the business.

Seren shared her thoughts on her placement at Prosperity, her career aspirations and the skills she’s gained.

“During my time here I’ve learned so much. One thing that I enjoyed learning about is cybersecurity – it’s such an interesting field of work! I’d be interested in following a career in cybersecurity or law.  Both go together well!”

“Prosperity offers such a wide range of career options to choose from. I’ve really enjoyed learning about the variety of everything from project management to new technology. I had the opportunity to have a taster of all parts of the business, where I learned loads and realised there’s always so much to get involved in.”

“All of the teams I’ve worked with have been super helpful, and they explain stuff in a very easy to understand way, which has helped me to learn so much. It’s one of the greatest opportunities I’ve had. I’m endlessly grateful.”

Prosperity 24/7 has based their report on the UK statutory guidance as gender pay gap reporting is not a legal requirement in Jersey, and in the UK, it only applies to organisations with 250 or more employees.

The gender pay gap reflects more than just unequal pay for the same role; it highlights broader workforce inequalities such as differences in career opportunities, unequal access to higher paying roles, job segregation, and the disproportionate burden of unpaid care work on women. Closing the gap requires addressing these underlying challenges, not merely equalising salaries for similar positions. Prosperity’s report demonstrated pleasing results.  While women represent 22% of the workforce, there is significant presence of women in senior positions and pay across the organisation is fractionally more in favour of female employees.

Geraldine Evans, Prosperity 24/7’s Chief Operating Officer said,  “Last year, we were the first organisation in Jersey’s technology sector to release a Gender Pay Gap report. We’re delighted that our results this year show that we have narrowed the gap even further to ensure we can eventually reach equal pay for all colleagues.”

Compared to UK businesses of a similar size, Prosperity 24/7’s gender pay gap is around the middle of the sector.

Geraldine added, “The main driver of our gap is the under-representation of women in senior and bonus-eligible roles, rather than differences in pay for the same work. This is consistent with patterns seen across smaller IT and Telecoms employers and gives us a clear focus for improvement.”

Marisa Hamon, Prosperity 24/7’s People Director continued, “It is understandable that there is a gap in a traditionally male dominated sector such as IT, and attracting female talent to the IT consultancy industry remains a considerable challenge with cultural bias often associating men with technical roles which discourages women from pursuing IT careers.  This year, we have put focus into initiatives that support and encourage girls and women to consider technology careers.  We have actively support education initiatives, promoted diversity and inclusion in the workplace and encouraged male allyship and a positive culture in our business.  We know things won’t change over night but every small step forward helps to create an equitable future for all.”

The event was designed to showcase innovations in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics. It was arranged by Beaulieu Science prefect, Scarlett, and the science department as an opportunity for girls from all of Beaulieu’s secondary school year groups to present projects they had worked on independently or as part of a team in their spare time.

Our Head of Strategic Delivery, Nick Jones, was honoured to visit Beaulieu to act as a judge. He was asked to award the Technology prize and vote for the best overall award.

“I was so incredibly impressed by all the entrants’ projects. The girls spoke with such passion and interest. I honestly learned a lot in my short time there. Who knew fruit had voltage? That toilet water (thanks to bleach) is cleaner than tap water? And that starch is less able to be broken down in the presence of high cortisol in the body? What was most impressive was the variety of apparatus and compounds that the girls were skilled enough to confidently use and measure to test their hypothesis. This was a real credit to the Science department and their approach to awe and wonder in the subject.”

The awards will be handed out in assembly in the coming weeks, but we would like to congratulate each and every entrant for their hard work; there will be some very worthy winners on the day.

Recently, we welcomed Thomas Wilson and Tegan Thomas, who spent time with us gaining invaluable experience and insight into our operations. Here, they share their experiences and offer advice to those aspiring to follow in their footsteps.

Thomas has just completed the second of his two 10-week work placements with Prosperity as part of his FdSc in Digital Technologies at Highlands, focusing on system automation and AI-augmented workflows. He recalls, “During my placement, I rotated through various teams, starting with Business Solutions. I spent four days a week with Prosperity and one day at Highlands, balancing practical work experience with academic progress.”

Tegan joined Prosperity’s Strategy & Change team for an internship in January. She is currently in her second year at Nottingham Trent University, studying business management with marketing. Tegan explains, “During my placement, I was exposed to work in business analysis, project management, and marketing strategy. I observed how strategic decisions are formed, communicated, and implemented in practice. Working alongside the Strategy & Change team, I attended meetings, reviewed processes, and supported live projects.”

Both students felt they gained a great deal from their time at Prosperity. For Tegan, the experience was about developing skills that cannot be taught in the classroom. She notes, “I’ve seen how strategic decisions are developed, communicated, and implemented. It’s been invaluable to work with the Strategy & Change team, to attend meetings, review processes, and support live projects. I’ve gained insight into how data, business requirements, and stakeholder needs are translated into actionable outcomes. I’ve strengthened my analytical thinking, adaptability, and understanding of how different business functions align to support organisational change.”

Thomas found the experience bridged the gap between academic theory and real-world practice, giving him essential hands-on experience. He shares, “I’ve learned more about systems architecture and security solutions. Developing a fundamental understanding of systems and their capabilities will help me identify possible automations and streamline workflows.”

Thomas believes that to get the most out of a work placement, you must be willing to learn everything and anything. “Adaptability is key. As you work with clients from a consultant’s perspective, you discover the value of understanding the end-to-end flow of decisions and relationships across different teams within client projects.”

Tegan’s advice is to be proactive, curious, and open to learning. “Ask questions and show genuine interest. It’s important to take initiative, seek feedback, and find ways to add value, even in small tasks. Above all, approach work experience with a positive attitude; every project, conversation, and challenge is an opportunity to learn and develop new skills, build confidence, and gain clarity on future career goals.”

Both Thomas and Tegan’s time at Prosperity demonstrate the immense value of work experience for students, showing that with initiative, curiosity, and a willingness to learn, doors will start to open as you embark on your career journey.

Prosperity 24/7 has been leading the way, supporting businesses to adapt and embrace the new technology through its people first approach and readiness service. They are also supporting employees to learn about and experiment with AI as well as developing solutions using AI for clients.

Two members of the team, Alex Ferreira and Kyra Crous, share their insights on what they have learned and how they have applied AI into their professional routines. They find it useful both as part of their daily administration as well as for the more technical parts of their roles.

Alex joined Prosperity 24/7 in July 2023 after graduating from University College Jersey with a BSc in Digital Technologies, he works as a Junior Consultant on the Technical Solutions team.

“I mainly use AI to help draft emails or coach me to make sure my writing is clear, concise, and has the right tone, which helps boost my confidence in communication. In my IT role, I also use it to gain a better understanding of certain concepts or technologies from different angles, which can be really useful when tackling something new. I troubleshoot issues and it helps me to learn faster. On top of that, I use AI to act as a copilot or pair programmer for my coding experience especially when trying to come up with suggestions to a problem or assisting with writing more efficient code.

Kyra is a Junior Data Consultant in the Business Solutions team. She joined Prosperity 24/7 this year, after working as a Data Analyst for a UK base procurement company following graduation from the University of Exeter with a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience.

“I use AI to help with debugging and helping me understand unfamiliar blocks of code or languages. Working in a team where we all specialise in different programming languages, it is essential for allowing us to understand each other’s work without spending hours cross-referencing the code to websites. Additionally, as someone who is not great at putting actions into words, AI helps me with my documentation and ensures that the highly technical components are understandable to clients, regardless of their technical background. I also use it for idea validation, to check if my approach to a problem is feasible before I commit time to it.”

The teams at Prosperity 24/7 predominantly use Microsoft’s generative AI tool, Copilot in their daily work and help implement Copilot solutions for their clients. From administrative tasks in Microsoft Office to more complicated coding and data analysis or testing in Power BI and Fabric, Copilot is embedded across all Microsoft platforms to enhance the service they offer to clients.

Kyra’s initial interest in AI stemmed from curiosity about its capabilities and she now feels that it is a much more necessary part of her role. “Working as a Data Consultant, my goal is to help businesses access their data more efficiently and effectively. This means processing, cleansing, and preparing data so clients can extract useful information from the data they have. I have used AI since it became publicly available, and like many others, was sceptical of both its capabilities and effectiveness within the workplace. However, AI has progressed so much over the last few years. I have moved away from only experimenting with it, such as asking simpler questions, and towards using it as a guide through unfamiliar territory, such as learning SQL which is a tool essential in my job role.”

Alex explains how learning how to use prompts effectively, ensures that you can achieve the results you want from AI. “At first, I experimented with generic prompts just to see what AI tools were capable of outputting, then kept developing my prompts until I eventually got the result I wanted. Although time-consuming at first, over time, I found that being more specific with the way prompts are phrased (prompt engineering) and including more detail gave me much more useful and consistent outcomes.”

Artificial intelligence is here to stay but it won’t be able to replace the need for human judgement. Both Alex and Kyra see the benefits and the risks, with more time freed up to be creative and innovative yet potential for over-reliance on the technology and lack of accountability for the output. Kyra says, “AI will make the technical side of data engineering more efficient, but it will never be able to fully replicate a human’s ability to connect industry nuance to the data and the insights interpretated from it.”

For Alex, “AI will continue to benefit my role by automating more of the repetitive tasks and speeding up things like documentation, coding checks etc. That frees me up to focus on the parts of IT that require problem-solving and creativity. However, AI isn’t always 100% accurate with its responses and there is the potential to lose critical thinking skills if you allow AI to completely autopilot your work processes.”

So, what advice would they give to others thinking about using AI tools but not knowing where to start? Kyra says, “It’s important that people apply their own judgement instead of the accepting the first answer AI provides. Use it as a tool, not a replacement for your judgement or skills. Keep your questions and tasks small to begin with and use the answers to learn. Don’t believe everything that AI tells you because, at the end of the day, it is used to mimic human thought processes, which are never perfect.”

Alex advises people to experiment with its capabilities, “You could try thinking about the work processes you do on a daily basis and see if there are ways AI could assist and be more efficient. Remember that it is a copilot rather than an autopilot. It isn’t there to completely control your work experience. It is meant to be collaborative. Also be aware of the information you share in case it is sensitive or confidential.”

Ana is currently studying A-Levels in Psychology, Media and Business, with aspirations to pursue a career in Law. During her time with us, Ana shadowed our colleague Lee and spent time attending meetings, observing daily office life and exploring the diverse services Prosperity offers. Her experience provided valuable insights into office culture and the variety of roles that contribute to a thriving business environment.

Ana shared, “My best advice is to embrace new opportunities and be open to learning. I consider curiosity my superpower.”

She is one of several students we’re supporting this year through structured work experience and mentoring. By offering students practical digital experience, we help young people make confident choices about their future career. Each student who joins us gains valuable insight and also adds fresh perspective and energy to our local talent pool, ensuring Jersey remains adaptable and resourceful for years to come.

In addition to our involvement with the IoD Future Leaders Scheme, we’re proud to collaborate with Highlands College and actively participate in careers fairs across the island, helping students explore pathways into tech, business and beyond.
