We are looking for an experienced and passionate Consultant Project Manager to join our Strategy & Change team, able to lead and deliver projects with limited complexity or assist on complex projects and programmes.  You will be able to demonstrate project management knowledge coupled with excellent stakeholder management skills and an ability to effectively manage client expectations, whilst delivering and embedding change successfully.  You must be a keen learner with the ability to empower and inspire others to deliver successful projects

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following aspects of the role:

  • Develop and manage project teams
  • Identify, address and resolve differences between stakeholders and stakeholder groups
  • Prepare and maintain definitions of project requirements
  • Develop the best solutions to meet project objectives, requirements and constraints
  • Prepare and maintain project plans, ensuring all activities, workstreams, milestones, dependencies and resource requirements are accounted for
  • Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans (other than finance) needed for projects, taking account of resource availability and scheduling
  • Develop and agree budgets for projects and controlling forecast and actual costs against them
  • Identify and monitor project risks (threats and opportunities), plan and implement responses to them and respond to other issues that affect projects
  • Develop, maintain and apply quality management processes for project activities and outputs
  • Consolidate and document the fundamental components of projects (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues, and quality requirements)
  • Manage stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence and particular interests
  • Establish and manage reviews at appropriate points, during and after projects, which will inform governance of projects by providing evaluations of progress, methodologies and continuing relevance
  • Establish, and implement where necessary, protocols to change the scope of projects and update configuration documents as required

About You

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.  Together with strong communication, technical and analytical skills and an understanding of project management methodologies and tools with the ability to work to deadlines and be able to adapt as required to business needs.
